Facts About PTERODACTYL BIRD

Pterodactyls were flying reptiles, not birds, that soared through prehistoric skies millions of years ago. These remarkable creatures had wingspans ranging from a few feet to over 30 feet, making them among the largest flying animals ever to exist. Their wings were supported by an elongated fourth finger, unlike the wings of modern birds. Pterodactyls had lightweight, hollow bones that helped them achieve flight, and many species featured distinctive head crests. They were carnivorous hunters that fed on fish and small prey, using their sharp teeth and pointed beaks to catch meals. These fascinating creatures went extinct around 66 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous period.
